You would need to be living on Mars to have never come across a list of the world’s sexiest women at least once on your trawls of the internet. In fact I would go so far as to say that if you are reading this and haven’t conducted your own online search for the hottest girl on the planet then I will eat my trilby! However, when we find these lists they are invariably created by men for men. Would women make the same selections if asked to name the sexiest females on the planet?

It’s an interesting question and one that has been answered. At Ugo dot com I came across one of the usual lists and among the top ten sex bombs were Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Brook and Beyonce. All very predictable I am sure you would agree. But then there were some surprise inclusions such as Mischa Barton and Jennifer Aniston. Completing the top ten were Angelina Jolie, Rachel Bilson, Giselle and Jessica Alba. Of that list if I am honest I would only have gone for Bilson and Johansson myself.

But then to the list compiled by members of the same sex: Katherine McPhee, Kim Basinger, Thandie Newton, Diane Lane, Lena Headey, Halle Berry, Jennifer Connelly, Sarah Shahi, Rosario Dawson, Natasha McElhone, and Rhona Mitra. The most obvious difference is that the women’s list includes a number of thirty, forty and even fifty somethings. My choice from that list? Dawson, Shahi, Mitra and a younger Basinger!
